New 4 story classroom and simulation center. The first two floors are comprised of two major learning studios each able to house 160 students, along with student life and support space such as student lounge, classroom, meeting and café space. The upper two floors are dedicated to practice based learning with a learning and assessment center featuring 18 standardized patient examination rooms, two hospital rooms and classrooms. The Experiential Learning Center is built with movable walls that allow for creation of a number of different simulation spaces for students including an operating suite for clinical, diagnostic and treatment simulations. In order to maximize the development of the interior technology, the building envelope is simply a rectangular box with punched windows. A tower and entry lobby are highlighted to act as a gateway to the health science center and symbolize the nature of the activity within.
