Oceanographic and Physical Sciences Building project designer with Perkins and Will
The first phase of a two building campus that will establish a new science precinct; the design objectives for the building are to create a distinctive new facility for the sciences and provide optimal research, classroom and education facilities within the constraints of the state mandate for building efficiency. The solution is a four story research and classroom building with an entrance and lecture hall feature at the corner. The entry will anchor this corner of the quadrangle and provide a unique marquis for the science programs within. The building has been recognized as exceeding the state requirements for design efficiency while the brick and glass exterior express the leading edge nature of the research facility within.
